Find Frio County Released Mugshots

A mugshot of a released Frio County inmate is tied to a booking, not proof that the person left custody. Frio County does not publish a verified online roster, recent-release gallery, or mobile app with booking photos. The sound discovery path is to request the specific booking photograph and release record from the sheriff, then match both to the right person and case. Other official sources cover limited groups, while news and copied images can be incomplete or stale. A Frio County booking photo must be read with its booking date, number, disposition, and release or transfer event.

Frio County Mugshot Sources

No official Frio County online booking-photo feed was verified. The sheriff page contains no roster or recent-release view, and no sheriff mobile application was found. That leaves a written public-information request as the main official route for a county booking photograph. Ask for the photo alongside the booking-out and release or transfer records.

Several other channels may hold an image, but each has a narrow scope. A Texas DPS registry photo applies only to a person covered by Chapter 62. A social or news image reflects a selected post or story. A copied image on an unofficial page may lack the correct date, disposition, or identity. None should be treated as release proof.

Request a Frio Booking Photo

The Frio County Sheriff's Office is the custodian to contact for a Frio County Jail booking. Its official page lists 502 South Cedar Street, Pearsall, TX 78061, and 830-505-7153. It does not publish a dedicated request email, portal, form, fee table, fax, or office hours. Call first to identify the current public-information officer and accepted written-delivery address.

  1. Identify the person with full name, date of birth, booking number if known, and a bounded booking date range.
  2. Ask for the existing booking photograph, jail-register entry, booking-in/out sheets, and release or transfer order from the same custody episode.
  3. Request the recorded release date and time, disposition, destination or receiving agency, and releasing authority.
  4. Ask for electronic copies and an itemized estimate before production if charges may apply.
  5. Compare the response with the matching court record and preserve any redaction or denial explanation.

This wording asks for identifiable records. The agency need not answer a legal question, create a report, or research why release occurred. No Frio-specific photo price was found, so a fixed amount or a claim that the copy is free would be unsupported.

Match Frio Photos to Releases

A booking photo shows appearance at a point in a custody episode. It may predate release by days, months, or years. It does not show whether a charge was dismissed, whether bond was posted, whether time was served, or whether the person transferred. Match the photograph to the release record through the name, booking number, and booking date.

Record detailQuestion answered
Booking numberIs this the same jail episode?
Booking dateWhen was the image created?
Release timeWhen did Frio custody end?
DispositionWas it bond, time served, dismissal, or transfer?
DestinationDid the person enter the community or another system?
Court cause numberWhich case explains the legal action?

A transfer to TDCJ, ICE, or another county is a departure from Frio County Jail but not community release. Likewise, a dismissed count does not defeat another hold. The broader Frio County released inmate search separates county, state, federal, and immigration custody paths.

Important: A photo confirms a booking image only. Use an affirmative custody event and court record to confirm release.

Frio County Photo Record Law

Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, governs requests for government records subject to procedures and exceptions. It does not guarantee that every photograph or personal detail will be released without redaction. The sheriff and, when required, the Attorney General determine how an exception applies to the actual request.

Texas retention rules separately govern how long local records must be kept. The jail register has a permanent minimum, while booking-in/out and release or transfer papers generally have a minimum of release or transfer plus two years. A property receipt has the same two-year minimum. Those schedules do not establish an online photo archive or override a disclosure restriction.

A narrow request helps. If a photo is withheld, keep the written response and any ruling information. If the detailed papers are no longer held, ask for the permanent jail-register entry. It can preserve the release or transfer date even when the image or booking packet is unavailable.

Note: Retention and public disclosure are different questions; a retained image may still be redacted or withheld under applicable law.

Frio Mugshot Correction Rights

Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 does not ban all mugshot publication or every fee. It applies to qualifying business entities that publish criminal-record information obtained through public records or purchased from DPS and meet the law's fee terms. The statute also contains exclusions, including certain news, broadcast, communications, and information services.

For an entity covered by the chapter, Section 109.004 requires a no-charge check of an accuracy or completeness dispute. The entity must complete the investigation by the forty-fifth business day, promptly remove or correct inaccurate or incomplete material, charge no correction fee, and provide written results by the fifth business day after the investigation ends. Sections 109.005 and related provisions address publication after notice of a qualifying expunction or nondisclosure.

Scope matters. The statutory process is not a promise that every site falls within the law, and no removal service is endorsed. Send a precise dispute to the publisher, keep proof of delivery, and rely on the actual order and current statute. Do not reconstruct material that has been expunged, sealed, or made subject to nondisclosure.

Expunged Frio County Mugshots

Texas recodified expunction in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A effective January 1, 2025. Eligibility turns on the exact arrest, charge, result, waiting period, and other facts. Release, dismissal, or acquittal does not automatically prove that a record was expunged. An order controls.

Government Code Chapter 411 Subchapter E-1 governs nondisclosure orders. Section 552.142 can except covered information from release under the PIA. Expunction and nondisclosure are distinct, but both can restrict access. Juvenile and other confidential records have separate protections.

If an official result is absent after a legal order, do not use cached or copied images to rebuild it. Contact the clerk that issued the order or qualified counsel for case-specific questions. A general mugshot search cannot decide legal eligibility or the reach of an order.

Frio Sheriff Social Photo Limits

The only verified official sheriff digital adjunct is the FCSO Facebook account linked from the county page. The county says to follow it for more information, but it does not promise a systematic release stream, complete booking-photo archive, or image for every person. No official mobile app was verified.

A social post may give agency context or document a selected event. It should be matched to the jail record and court file before drawing a release conclusion. A post can also remain visible after custody status changes. The publishing date is not the booking-out time.

The Frio County 24-Hour Release List workflow explains how to verify a same-day event when no recent-release feed exists. The same caution applies to images: absence from social media proves nothing, and appearance in a post does not show present custody.

Local News Mugshot Boundaries

Frio-Nueces Current has covered recent jail operations, and KSAT documented the 2015 shutdown. Those reports are useful for dated facility history, policy context, or a named incident. Neither outlet is a comprehensive individual release or booking-photo database. An editorial image may also be a file photo rather than the booking image at issue.

Unofficial aggregators may display copied photos, but they can preserve old data, confuse similar names, omit disposition, or attach a charge without the final case result. No commercial mugshot publisher or paid removal service is linked or endorsed. Official sheriff, court, registry, and corrections records take priority.

A local article should therefore be treated as a lead. Confirm identity through a booking number and date, obtain the originating photograph when available, and use the release record to establish what happened. This approach preserves the difference between an arrest image and a later custody outcome.

Note: News coverage can document a named event, but it does not replace the Frio County booking-out record.

State and Federal Photo Limits

TDCJ's public email offender-information service expressly says it does not provide photos. Its current-inmate search is also limited to people currently incarcerated in TDCJ, so it cannot serve as a complete archive of discharged former prisoners. A separately framed public-information request receives its own agency decision.

The Texas DPS sex-offender registry may show a current color photo for a person who has a Chapter 62 registration duty. That registry is limited by law and is not a general released-inmate gallery. IVSS-Counties and TDCJ IVSS are notification systems; current Frio photo availability was not established.

BOP, USMS, and ICE do not provide a general Frio booking-photo promise. Use their official record procedures only when that authority actually held the person. A federal or immigration no-result is not grounds to infer release, and a county booking image cannot prove what happened after transfer.
